Brittany is unsurprisingly France's most visited destination, with its exquisite, rugged landscapes that span inland forests and coastlines, its extensive history, its unique and varied culture and heritage, its superb food and drink and its friendly, helpful people. For sightseeing, sports of all kinds and family activities, the region is hard to beat. Aside from world-class hospitality - naturally! - the great passion of the owners family is sport - in particular sailing and horse-riding. Not least because of its proximity to one of France's great beaches, St Tugen (a short walk away), le Manoir Audierne is blessed with extraordinary local facilities. If you like life on the water, there's sailing, canoeing, sea and river rowing, surfing (St Tugen is a renowned surfing beach), cruising, scuba diving, windsurfing and also fishing. As you'd expect, there's also a great deal of maritime heritage to be enjoyed here. Audierne is the vibrant, colourful fishing port that's the nearest big town to le Manoir. As well as being a wonderful place to visit in its own right, it's where you'll find most of the shops, food and wine, hotels and restaurants you may need during your stay. Local specialities include - of course - sea food, patisseries, crêpes, and don't forget the powerful apple brandy, Calvados! For local legumes, perfect croissants, superb seafood and a whole lot more, go to Les Halles, the local daily market. Quimper porcelain makes an ideal gift or souvenir. A fabulous market On Saturday mornings, the Audierne market is one of the great features of the area - not only a great way to stock up the larders at le Manoir, but also good fun for everyone. Brittany's remarkable religious heritage has produced all sorts of sights and events, most renowned of which perhaps are the various "Pardons". There are events of all kinds throughout the year in Cap Sizun, many of them in the vicinity of Audieme. In town, in the country or by the sea - there are many delightful routes and guided excursions to choose from. Included among the many historical sites of interest are the church at St Tugen, the St Raymond Church at Audieme, and the Museum at Pont Croix. There's also a guided tour of Old Audieme. Manoir Audierne is a beautiful venue for an unforgettable celebration or wedding. Charm and tradition flows through the estate making it the perfect setting to host all you friends and family.

With over 100 acres of grounds, including lawned gardens and parkland, and a 15th Century dovecot, there are endless possibilities for the exact location and arrangements of your special occasion. There are many caterers in the local area who can be recommended to provide a delicious feast for you and all your guests. Similarly, arrangements for a wedding/party planner can be made, alongside marquee hire and all additional services you may require.

The local village, about 7 km away, has plenty of additional accommodation possibilities for all your guests to stay and enjoy the full extent of the festivities.

The diverse region of Brittany, located in north-western France, is a fantastic area of the country to visit, boasting over 2,800 kilometres of coastline, delicious cuisine (notably mouth-wateringly fresh seafood!), tranquil fishing villages, brilliant hiking and cycling routes and gorgeous sceneries, from gorgeously, sandy beaches to dramatic cliffs…

A dream for adventurous sailors, holiday-foodies (of course, wine considerers!) and those seeking a blissful escape, Brittany is a brilliant destination. The region, with the English Channel to the north, is also home to a variety of spectacular, historic pieces, with over 2,900 protected monuments on offer, as well as some of the best sailing races in the world. Browse our plethora of holiday villas, homes and apartments across Brittany today!

Sailing is a popular sport here (with the typically windy weather from being exposed to the Atlantic airstream), but with 600 kilometres of canals and rivers, visitors can choose a relaxing boat ride instead of a competitive water-chase on their break!

Of course, many choose Brittany for its relaxing beach days, bordered by dramatic shorelines. Kick back and relax across its white sandy stretches, enjoying the comfortable sunny days in the summer months. From large, bustling, family-friendly stretches to quiet, secluded spots, there’s a beach for everyone here. And with 800 islands and islets, you won’t be short of areas to explore, after a calming, scenic boat ride!

The region’s charming capital of Rennes is a popular destination here, with a history dating back to the Roman era. The capital is easy to explore on foot; make sure to visit the landmark 19th century Cathedrale Saint-Pierre and admire the magnificent Parlement de Bretagne. Why not take a guided tour here? Visit the beautiful Parc de Thabor, a relaxing green space which covers over ten hectares on the north-east corner of Rennes. View the Travelopo portfolio of holiday homes, villas and apartments in and around Rennes for a dream escape…

The port city of Brest, on the west Atlantic coast of France, is notably home to the Tour Tanguy, a medieval tower on a rocky mote beside the Penfeld River and Océanopolis, a fantastic aquarium with marine wildlife, perfect for families. As one of France’s most stunning natural harbours, Brest is not to be missed. The university city offers great nightlife too, with an array of clubs, bars and theatres. View our Brittany rentals in and around Brest today…
