More on Gozo

The island was home to the beautiful rock formation Azure Window; a 28-metre tall limestone arch which was sadly destroyed in severe weather in March 2017. While this natural landmark has been lost, there’s still plenty to explore across charming Gozo, from mysterious caves to striking fortresses. In fact, you’ll find a plethora of churches, chapels and cathedrals on every corner of the island, including the landmark Cittadella Cathedral, dating back to the 17th century.

Easily accessible by ferry from main island Malta (and Comino isand), Gozo is also one of the best diving destinations in the Mediterranean! You can find a brilliant array of reefs, dives and wrecks in the island’s azure waters while on-land, adventure begins with fantastic climbing, biking and abseiling spots.

The island’s bustling capital, Victoria, known locally as Rabat, is a great area to explore. The city offers some great markets, shops, bars and busy squares in the heart of the island.

Gozo enjoys a subtropical Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, slightly rainy winters. The hottest month here is typically August, when temperatures average 27*C with up to 12 hours of sunshine daily!

From its quaint fishing villages to its mouth-watering cuisine, Malta is a dream destination for sun-seekers and avid explorers, away from the bustling crowds found on its sister island. Although tiny, the island of Gozo is a slice of paradise in the Mediterranean, promising an unforgettable holiday under the Maltese rays…
