Is there a better way to celebrate your love than visit a 40 square-metres wall covered in the words ‘I love you’ over 300 times in 250 different languages? The love-themed wall in the Jehan Rictus garden square in Montmartre is hidden away beautifully for those who enjoy a romantic stroll through the city and is completely free to visit.
2) Picnic near the Temple of Love
The clue is in the name! A visit to the Temple of Love (also known as the Temple Romantique) on the lake ‘Lac Daumesnil’, in the Bois de Vincennes, is sure to ooze romance. The entire temple is sculpted from marble and houses a statue of cupid – and you can even rowboat across for a picnic for two!
3) Explore the Musée de la Vie Romantique
You can admire a plethora of Romantic canvases, paintings and sculptures in the Musée de la Vie Romantique, located at the foot of Montmartre hill in the ninth arrondissement of Paris. The museum, which was renovated in 2013, also offers a beautiful summer garden to relax in with your other half. In fact, you’ll find a great array of museums and galleries to explore across the capital; ideal on a city break across the seasons…
4) Cruise down the Seine
The river Seine that passes through Paris creates endless opportunities for romance! Taking a boat cruise down the river is a fantastic way to spend time with your loved one while sightseeing the city – or even simply strolling down the river banks to create those romantic memories.
5) Watch a film at an open-air cinema
You can share a bottle of Parisian wine while watching a film outdoors with your loved one at the Parc de la Villette’s free open air cinema, open during July and August (weather dependant).
