There is a weekly Sunday market held in nearby Sabinillas where everything from Antiques to Moroccan arts is sold. In the mountain is the quaint little village of Manilva where you can buy fresh vegetables from a local vendor or, if you feel like it, pick your own sweet grapes. Gibraltar is a thirty minute drive south along the beautiful coast from where you can take a fantastic dolphin excursion or go to the top of the peninsula and see the caves and the famous local monkeys.
