Villa val D Elsa - Siena, Tuscany is a 2 floor villa, come spend a magical summer at the Villa Val d Elsa. The villa has a breathtaking view of the surrounding country side of Colle val D Elsa, Tuscany environed by marvelous gardens and belonged to an aristocratic Italian family for centuries. The grand villa is capable of accommodating 25 guests in 1 single bedroom, 2 twin bedrooms, 6 double bed rooms and 4 suites (1 with a Jacuzzi). Garden LevelThe enormous living room the cantinore schemed with lush apple green and vibrant velvet red remains cool even during summer prides with ample sitting area furnished with elegant upholstered couches, vintage table lamps and sideboards. The ceilings are arched in terra-cotta and tapestry rugs run over the floor while oil paintings adorn the walls with windows rendering the view of the cantina below. There are three separate adjoining dining rooms with vaulted stone ceilings and round tables can spaciously accommodate 31 guests. The dining rooms are designed in such a way that guests can dine in smaller groups. All the dining rooms open through the arched double doors to the south patio. Guests can bring out the bubbling chef in them at the main kitchen. The kitchen is known for its professional designing apt for cooking. The suite is spacious and has a private entrance through the garden or through the cantinore, to the living room with many paintings, fabric-draped tables and a bright sunflower yellow couch. A door leads to the (queen) double bedroom containing a restored antique iron bed (traditional to Tuscany) with red cotton and closed off from adjacent sitting area by means of red and gold colored plaid drapes. There are two white-tiled bathrooms inclusive of a wall mounted shower in a tub, each with a partition with a view of the countryside. First FloorFrom the courtyard one can access the main entrance of the private rooms up a short staircase. The area is decorated with crisp upholstered couches, spruced up antique chairs, fabric-draped side tables, all in a gold and green color palette. The owners are said to be the ones who festooned the villa with ingenious refined elegance. The guests will be awestruck at the beautiful collection of porcelains housed in a Venetian glass front alcove. The walls in the villa are adorned with abundant oil paintings, engravings and prints. The gold and green sitting room is equipped with a wall mounted liquid crystal display TV, DVD player, VCR player, play station, comfortable couches, small antique coffee table, large writing desk and area rugs on the floor. One can have a splendid view of the courtyard through the windows. There is a fully restored chapel with frescos on the wall with the painting of Madonna and child over the altar. cavallo the delectable single bedroom named after the horse prints on the wall has window lamp shades and other charming objects. The room provides a gorgeous view of the country side and has a large tiled ensuite bath (tub with hand held shower sans curtain). There is a suite with cassettone ceiling which is green with a sitting area containing a glass - topped coffee table and a large antique armoire which separates the (queen) double bedroom in green and coral plaid drapes with an iron on a cotta floor. There are various prints n room depicting hunting scenes. The tree covered hills can be viewed from the south facing three windows. There is an ensuite coral bath (tub with wall mounted shower and partial partition). Another (King) double bedroom limonaia is cheerful and vibrant with bright lemon pattern on the lines, drapes and various objects around the room with a fabric draped antique bed, a large closet and a white tiled ensuite bath (tub with wall mounted shower and curtain).Couple of staircases connect to the door the bed room and the bath. The (Queen) double bedroom rose suite is elegant with a lovely ensemble of antique furniture including a romantic canopied bed, all finished in rose and yellow print chintz. The lady guests will be delighted to find a Dresser, closet and dressing table under a cassettone ceiling with ensuite bath (tub with wall-mounted shower and partial glass partition). First Floor- North WingThe (king) double bedroom affrascati is pale and pleasant with frescoes covering the wall and ceiling were also restored to cherish the beauty of the villa. The bedroom contains an antique iron bed and a pink and white ensuite bath (enclosed shower stall). Another (King) double bedroom is bright finished with heavy coral- colored cotton, iron bed, sitting area, TV, large ensuite bath ( massage tub with hand-held shower sans curtain) with inset sinks in marble counter, and south-facing window. The floor is Cotta tiled with an area rug. There is a guest bath available (tub with hand held shower sans curtain) finished in green and white tiles for the guests relaxing on the terrace on in the TV room. The terrace is large and is artistically tented with white canvas and is furnished with teak dining tables and built-in benches. The terrace is an ideal place for 12 guests to have breakfast. The guest can feast on the drinks, hors d oeuvres and the refreshing view of the countryside. Second FloorThere are two spacious and elegant separate twin bedrooms with high ceiling and fully restored Black iron Tuscan beds. The affability and refinement of the room is depicted by the red and gold fabric, the antique armoire and the antique dresser. There is an ensuite bath (tub with wall-mounted shower and partial partition) finished in white tile and accented with yellow and green. The central sitting room is spacious furnished with divine antique wood-framed couch finished in blue damask, antique gilt-framed mirror and a samovar. The sitting room leads to an exquisite large balcony with a of the garden, the adjacent buildings and the countryside. The walls are authentically stenciled in gold and stylized in fleur-de-lis design and is duplicated on a newly constructed marble-framed decorative fireplace. The (queen) double bedroom Pompeian is pretty and gynic with draped bed in peach tones. It has a hardwood floor with tapestry rug, antique painted dresser, armoire and an astounding large romantic ensuite bath with claw-foot tub (with shower attachment and curtain) set in middle of the room and a draped dressing table in the corner. There are two large windows in the bathroom alone and a private vestibule leads to an elegant, large double bedroom (king) in gold which enjoys both east- and west-facing windows and an expansive view of the outdoors from the top floor. A very large ensuite bath (tub with hand-held shower and curtain) which was originally a kitchen can be found. Second Floor - North WingThe (queen) double bedroom azzure is cool and pleasant, with restored iron bed draped in white linen finished with fresh white cotton spread. The ceiling is frescoed with Blue and white color scheme. The room has hardwood floor, armoire and dresser and a blue and white ensuite bath (enclosed shower stall). There is a charming (queen) double bedroom which is nicely finished in soft green and peach tones with lovely woven spread on iron bed with an attractive armoire and dresser, decoratively painted, to fit with style of tapestry rug and bed covers. The room has an ensuite bath (tub with hand-held shower and curtain) with travertine counter. Private suites of two rooms occupy the end of the hall which comprises the Popes room, a double twin bedroom in sophisticated beige/coral damask stripe with a wonderful oil painting of a Pope. Across the frescoed hall, there is an artistic depiction of the town of Gallina and Villa Collalto as it looked at the turn of the century. Also there is a private bath (tub with hand-held shower with partial partition). Il Granaio (Old Mill)One will find an ancient olive press which was powered by oxen in the lower level of the villa. There is a large billiard room, with a beautiful full-size antique pool table. The Cantina is set in two small round rooms which lodges the wine. These museum-like series of rooms, set with various interesting artifacts from the estate s agricultural past can be accessed through the separate gated entrance and gravel drive. Casa Mela is an apartment of 56 square meters (about 600 square feet), for five people, with a patio, it also shares a pool and a 4000 square meter (about 1 acre) park. It is part of a farming estate located on a low hillside, 300 meters (about 980 feet) above sea level. You will be in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, 50 km (31 miles) from Florence and 20 km (12.5 miles) from Siena, among the hills in which Chianti wine is produced. A short distance away, you will find some of the most famous towns of Tuscany, such as San Gimignano, Monteriggione and Colle Val D’Elsa. Casa Mela is located on the first floor. It has two double-bedded rooms, a living room with divan bed for one person, a bathroom with shower and a kitchen. In front of the apartment’s entrance, on the ground floor, there is a long and broad terrace with a view of the valley and of the pool. Along here, you will find the entry doors of the three apartments; each apartment has its own reserved space with table and chairs, deck-chairs and umbrellas. The swimming pool You will have at your disposition a lovely pool of 7 X 14 meters (about 23 X 46 feet), surrounded by lawn and equipped with deckchairs and umbrellas. The pool is shared among the guests of the other three small apartments. Stretched out by the pool, you will be able to enjoy a beautiful and expansive view of the gentle hills that surround you. The location At Casa Mela, you will spend your vacation in an historic and fascinating location. Casa Mela is one of four apartments that have been renovated, and that are attached to a small church dating back to the 1200s. The church and the attached rooms originally formed a small compound. Casa Mela was actually the priest’s residence. There were also the wine cellar and storage, and rooms that hosted the pilgrims who passed through here on their way to Rome. These same rooms, renovated after practically a thousand years of history, now serve to house tourists who visit Italy. Through this area of Tuscany (the Val D’Elsa), passed the ancient “Via Franchigena,” the official road to Rome taken by pilgrims from all parts of Europe. This was one of the principal communication channels of the medieval world. Along this road, many similar country churches were constructed; these are still called “Pievi.” Beyond their religious functions, the historic parishes also served as gathering places for the residents of the community. Because of this, there is usually a village or at least a small group of houses next to the churches. Staying at Casa Mela, you will feel that you are part of this long-ago time. The church is slightly raised from the surrounding countryside. From a distance, when you arrive, you will be able to see on the summit of a small hill, the ancient view tower of the priest’s residence, the round stone apse with its red-brick designs, and the belltower with its elegant double-lancet window, in which the church bells hang. The entire building has been lovingly renovated, re-using historic and traditional materialsin a single moment, you will be transported into the atmosphere of times gone by. The beautiful stone and red brick construction, the surrounding green lawn and flowering hedges, the vast horizon of gentle hills that fade to pale blue at the horizonall this will infuse you with a sensation of peace and well being, and you will feel overjoyed to be a part of this place during your vacation! The apartments that have been renovated as vacation homes are all on the side of the church that faces towards the hills, and have a view of the large swimming pool located a few meters away and below. The church can be visited. Perfectly restored, it holds a room in which the owners receive the guests of the apartments. Not far from the house, there is also a small hamlet of stone houses. You will be in the heart of the Tuscan countryside, 50 km (31 miles) from Florence and 20 km (12.5 miles) from Siena, among the hills in which Chianti wine is produced. A short distance away, you will find some of the most famous towns of Tuscany, such as San Gimignano, Monteriggione and Colle Val D’Elsa. Casa Sole is on two levelson the upper level you will find a double-bedded room with ensuite bathroom, and a living room with divan bed. By way of an internal stairway, you reach the lower level, where you will find a kitchen with dining table and glass doors through which you reach the area of the patio that is reserved for your exclusive use. On this patio of 20 square meters (about 215 square feet) you will find table and chairs, deck-chairs and umbrellas. The location At Casa Sole, you will spend your vacation in an historic and fascinating location. Casa Sole is one of four apartments that have been renovated, and that are attached to a small church dating back to the 1200s. The church and the attached rooms originally formed a small compound. There was the priest’s living quarters, the wine cellar and storage, and rooms that hosted the pilgrims who passed through here on their way to Rome. In fact, through this area of Tuscany (the Val D’Elsa), passed the ancient “Via Franchigena,” the official road to Rome taken by pilgrims from all parts of Europe. This was one of the principal communication channels of the medieval world. Along this road, many similar country churches were constructed; these are still called “Pievi.” Beyond their religious functions, the historic parishes also served as gathering places for the residents of the community. Because of this, there is usually a village or at least a small group of houses next to the churches. At Casa Gelso, the sense of history is tangible—you will feel almost like a time-traveler, able to glimpse the true reality of days gone by. The church is slightly raised from the surrounding countryside. Even before you arrive, from a distance you will be able to see the refined construction, with the round apse crafted from stone and brick, and the tower with the elegant double lancet window in which the bells are located.
