This elegant farmstead is located in the most coveted region of central Tuscany. Strategically positioned in the middle of the Golden Triangle - Florence, Siena and Pisa - it sits on top of a hill. Capanna Olivo takes its name from the vast groves of olive trees that surround it in every direction, and will impress its guests with stunning views. Every window boasts an incomparable view of the surrounding landscape. Whether lying in bed or at the pool you will enjoy views of the gentle rolling hills that lead to the ancient towers of San Gimignano. The silver-grey of the olives blends with the dark green of cypresses, creating a spectacular show of colours. The guests are free to stroll through the olive groves and adjacent vineyards, and sample the Chianti wines and olive oil produced by the family-owned farm. The farm organises wine tastings free of charge in the nearby wine cellar, and the recently awarded supertuscan wine is excellent.<BR><BR>The property consists of three buildingsthe detached house Capanna Olivo offered here on the left (see picture above), the villa with tower of the property owner in the middle and adjecting to it a farmhouse transformed into four apartments on the right (Villa Olivo / also featured in our portfolio).<BR> <BR>Capanna Olivo looks out onto the panoramic valley to south-west. Once the former barn of the estate, it was fully restored in the year 2004 and transformed into a typical country house. The house develops over two floors and is equipped with all the necessary modern comfort. (Amenities include air conditioning, although you ll rarely need it, as the hilltop location allows for maximum circulation of Tuscan breezes). This house is an atmospheric ambience designed with loving care for details. The layout and the decoration were a project of the property owner Paola. She invested a lot of time and love in choosing the right marble, tiles and light fixtures for the kitchen and the bathrooms, and in finding the right material for the sofas and armchairs as well as having a few choice pieces of antique family furniture restored. Brava Paola!<BR><BR>Capanna Olivo with sun pouring in through the French windows, its pastel colours and stunning views is a the perfect place for an unforgettable vacation. The large terrace is wonderful for al fresco dining, and every day the sunset is the very special event. A private path leads to a magnificent Mediterranean style swimming pool with roman steps. The pool is conjointly used with the guests of Villa Olivo. On return from a day out, you can relax here enjoying the nature and the peace of the estate. Capanna Olivo has its private access with electronic entrance gate, private parking and private path to the shared pool.<BR> <BR>The estate is surrounded by the stunning landscapes of Renaissance paintings - the breathtaking Renaissance landscapes of Valdelsa, admired in the paintings of Leonardo, Botticelli and Benozzo Gozzoli. Infinite gradations of colours will amaze you at every footstep. You may walk or ride (riding stable 5 km) through endless fields of sunflowers and gravel paths surrounded by rows of cypresses. Here you can immerse yourself in history, studying paintings and frescoes. You can visit the wonderful churches and museums of Florence and Siena, just 20 and 15 miles away. At Villa Olivo you can taste and buy the excellent Chianti wine as well as the olive oil produced by the owners.<BR><BR>At walking distance there are a family-owned Tuscan Restaurant (bring a torch if you like to walk - as the street is not illuminated), a mini-market and one of the oldest churches of the region. Just a few miles down the hill there is Certaldo Alto, the picturesque, walled medieval hilltop town renowned for being the birthplace of the poet and writer Giovanni Boccaccio, the author of The Decameron.
