A beautiful stylish and spacious 200-year-old old farmhouse with a gorgeous garden and lovely country views, near San Carlos. The gardens and pool are fantastic too with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and the sea. The pool is really long with a gorgeous terrace all around on different levels, with lots of terrace furniture - wooden loungers, umbrellas, a long dining table and a barbecue. There are lawns too and tall trees. And the whole area can be lit at night for fantastic evenings eating and relaxing outside. This is a beautiful house with history, style and space. It’s very tranquil, on a quiet hillside but still near to the busy village of San Carlos with its famous market, shops, bars, cafes and restaurants - and also the lovely beaches of Aguas Blancas, es Figueral and Pou d es Lleo. A ferry boat runs a shuttle service connecting Es Cana, Cala Llonga, Santa Eulalia and Ibiza Town which makes a pleasant alternative to driving to and fro. A boat trip to the island of Formentera is another popular day out. On the edge of a pine forest and with views to undulating hills stretching into the distance this little gem offers guests the opportunity to enjoy nature at its best, yet at the same time is only a five minute drive from the amenities of San Carlos village and a 10-15 minute drive from several sandy beaches including Es Cana, Cala Nova, Cala Martina, Cala Pada, Es Figueal and Cala Llenya. The atmosphere in the well appointed interior is intimate and relaxed with each room boasting a modern yet classic flavour. Cool terracotta tiled floors and simple, tasteful decor contribute considerable charm. Pretty woodland scenery is framed by the windows of the elegant double bedroom which has a shower room conveniently adjacent and both the dining and the kitchen area are imbued with good creature comforts. The heart of the home is an attractive, comfortably furnished living room, a light and peaceful haven in which to while away a little time if sanctuary is needed from the midday sun. As we hope these accompanying photographs convey, the amount of space on offer externally is most impressive and, more often than not, associated with a property of much larger capacity. Long, lazy days reclining on the ample sun terrace and enjoying the occasional swim will merge seamlessly into evenings spent dining ‘a deux’ next to the pool. Breathing in the fresh aroma of pine, whilst marvelling at the expanse of fields and hills beyond, can make it tempting not to stray far from this tranquil hideaway however this beguiling island has plenty to entice. A plethora of excellent beaches are just waiting to be discovered; those mentioned above (as well as numerous others near to them) are great for a quick dip but some of the more secluded coves are particularly well worth seeking out. Locally referred to as the “cove of mystery” (although nobody seems to know exactly why!) tiny Cala Mastella, just past San Carlos, has beautifully clear water for bathing and one of the island’s most famous waterfront fish restaurants; Cala Gracioneta on the west coast is a quaint rustic cove, perfect for snorkelling, whilst Cala Olivera, a serene little spot on the East Coast, is a lovely place to head for with a picnic. For the evenings, San Carlos is a laid back treat; a small charming village centred on a beautiful church in the main square, it has played host to a community of artists for decades. An unmistakeably bohemian vibe pervades to this day, best epitomised by the popular Saturday Hippy Market (with occasional night markets on Sunday and Monday) held in and around the Las Dalias restaurant. Another atmospheric landmark is Bar Anita’s. Renowned as both a gathering point and an informal post office for sixties free spirits and sun-worshippers (the 400 post boxes are still in use today by owners of the most remote farms), locals claim to have seen Mick Jagger and Bob Marley perform impromptu concerts there over the years, but it is perhaps best known for displaying the paintings of its often penniless patrons to help them pay their bar tab!
