Enjoying warm weather all year round Gran Canaria offers you a wealth of choices. You'll find everything you are looking forward to in order to relax, have fun, and soak up the atmosphere. Located in the Atlantic Ocean, 130 miles from the African coast, it is the third largest of the Canary Islands. Las Palmas, situated in the north east of the island is its capital.

On the south of the island you will find the resorts of Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles, both sharing the magnificent 8km stretch of golden sandy beach, one of the best throughout the whole of the Canaries. The popular beaches can be busy, but the spectacular sand dunes of Maspalomas provide secluded spots for sunbathing, making this area a favourite. Maspalomas is quite an upmarket area with a relaxed atmosphere if you want to get away from it all. In contrast Playa del Ingles is a very lively resort much favoured by British tourists and you will find many English-style pubs and bars there.

A very short trip away on the Gran Canaria coast road, as is the beautiful Amadores beach which is suitable for families and has many amenities. Arguineguin is, a typical Canarian fishing village also along the south coast, it is home to many locals rather than being a tourist resort and offers many restaurants and lovely sea walks.
